SECAD Community Group Development Programme

 SECAD is delighted to announce the upcoming Community Group Development Programme which will run throughout the autumn.

 

This programme is a combination of community networking events, online training and community mentoring and is free to community volunteers, staff and individuals with an interest in their community to attend.  The programme is funded through the Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme and is aimed primarily at community groups in the towns and hinterlands of Youghal, Midleton, Cobh, Carrigaline, Macroom and Millstreet.

 

We would like to invite you to the first networking event in

 

Midleton Talbot Hotel on Monday 7th September

OR

Castle Hotel, Macroom on Wednesday 9th September

 

Refreshments will be available from 6.30pm, with the main event running from 7pm to 9pm.

 

On the night, we will be launching our Community Group Development Programme. This programme is designed to give community groups and organisations the skills and supports needed to build capacity and resilience. The programme will be facilitated and delivered by industry experts.

 

Online workshops will take place from September to November 2026 and include:

  • Governance for your community group
  • Sources of Grants, Funding & Fundraising
  • Writing Successful Applications for Grant Funding
  • Tools for greater efficiency in Community Groups
  • Community Group Health Check & Audit 
  • How to establish your Community Needs
  • How to Establish Your Community & Voluntary Group 
  • Strategic Planning for Community Groups
