   Cork School Garden 2023 focus on Coachford N.S This week we focus on Coachford N.S who were Gold Medal Winners.  The judges were very impressed   that the   garden is developing and maturing nicely. "The location of the classbeds is a great example of using space wisely. The enthusiasm and knowledge of the children was amazing. Labeling and use of Irish was excellent. Very good use of upcycling colour and art and we loved the cabbies, the new outdoor classroom and the polytunnel which will be a great asset.   Cork School Garden 2023 focus on Ahiohill N.S This week we focus on Ahiohill N.S who were Highly Recommended for their school garden.  The judges were very  impressed  that t he garden has hugely improved from last year. "The knowledge and enthusiasm of the children impressed us.   The polytunnel and sensory path are very impressive. It is great that you have allowed the bank to grow wild and it has made a huge improvement.     Consider using the polytunnel to start plants earlier in the year. Pland fruit bushes and consider installing a water butt to harvest rainwater.   Cork School Garden 2023 focus on Gaelscoil an Chaisleáin N.S This week we focus on Gaelscoil an Chaisleáin N.S who were Best in Category Winners.  The judges were very  impressed by your colorful garden and the great use of every space. "We were also delighted with the knowledge of the children. The weeding, upcycling and bee friendly measures are very impressive. The garden was resplendant the day of our visit with plenty of colour from recycled materials. The garden is well planned and cared for. Labeling and use of Irish was excellent. Very good use of upcycling colour and art. The Polytunnel is a great asset and the natural raised beds made from sods was very novel indeed. Great overall Garden.     Please consider installing a water butt to harvest water from the roof. Great overall Garden.     Maybe consider reinstalling water butts and more bee friendly planting.   Cork School Garden 2023 focus on  Derinagree N.S This week we focus on Derinagree N.S who were the Gold Medal Winners.  The judges were very impressed  by your colorful garden and the great use of every space. We were also delighted with the knowledge of the children. The weeding, upcycling and bee friendly measures are very impressive. The garden was resplendant the day of our visit with plenty of colour from recycled materials. We also loved the tree covered area used by the children for trading. The tree planting and wildflower meadows were great. The willow dome is coming along great.   Cork School Garden 2023 focus on Cloghloua N.S This week we focus on Cloghloua N.S who were Highly Recommended for their school garden.  The judges were very  impressed.     " Great first time entry, terrific use of polytunnel, raised beds and hang buckets are excellent. Use of repurposed buckets an excellent idea and it is good to know that the children take home their produce.   Consider log piles or bug hotel, use recycled materials to create colourful art around the school. This week we focus on Strawberry Hill N.S  who were Highly Recommended for their school garden in 2023.  The judges were very  impressed    by the use of the garden for fun and play. The development of the sensory garden is impressive as is the amount of upcycling in the garden. Good food productions also.   Consider more fruit bushes and water harvesting from roof. This week we also focus on  Blarney Street N.S  who were Highly Recommended for their school garden in 2023.  The judges were very  impressed    by   t his great first time entry and we were very impressed by the layout of the raised beds in a very small space. The use of recycled old baths near the entrance was also excellent. Well done on the composting, water harvesting and the wormery. The upcycling of the watering cans was also impressive.
